Claude Nicaud born in Paris on 1936 was the Artistic Director at the "Monnaie de Paris" Quai Conti, from 1960 to 1975. While working at this ancient institution, he went on painting and had the chance to exhibit his own work of art which obtained many prices. This period of creation and development during which the two crafts were associated culminated in his decision to leave the security of administration and launch himself completely in creative painting, thus realising his dream of freedom. |

Having developed his different techniques of art (water colour, engraving, oil painting, etc...) in Paris he then moved to Saint Antonin Noble Val, a middle aged village situated in the defile of Aveyron at the boarders of Rouergue, Quercy and Albigeois, amid spectacular landscapes of chalk hills and rough lands, in a word "causses". In these surroundings which suit his sensitivity as a painter his colours bring to life and express his profound love of the beauty. return |
